Qualifications
I hold a professional post-graduate diploma in counselling and psychotherapy, and a diploma in supervision of psychotherapists. I have also attended a course in group psychotherapy. I have worked in private, voluntary and in public settings and in business consultancy. I have practised for 15 years.
I am a member of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy - www.psychotherapy.org.uk), and I subscribe and adhere to their code of conduct for professional ethics, standards, boundaries and confidentiality. The sessions are confidential and I hold indemnity insurance.
I am fully committed to my own ongoing professional and personal development, through courses, workshops, reading, ongoing own psychotherapy and supervision as well as other self-development practises, including Hatha Yoga, Qi Gong, Meditation, Tai Chi, Kendo and Aikido.
Qualifications #02A little bit about my background and experience: I am half Indian, half Danish and grew up in Scandinavia where I first developed an interest in nature, yoga and psychology.
I have lived in the UK since 1986 and continued to develop my interests here. My work in the last decade has covered physical healing, alternative medicine, working with severe mental disturbances, dreams and group therapy.
I have also been a GP surgery counsellor for 8 years and I now run a counselling service in primary care serving 5,000 patients, with 5 trainees supervised by myself. I am also a tutor at the Minster Centre for psychotherapy where I facilitate groups of psychotherapy trainees.
I also continue to explore the concept of wholeness and integration, through the links that psychotherapy has with philosophy, meditation, nature, shamanism, history, literature, science, metaphysics, poetry, cosmology, music and other arts. |
